What support is available?

TechGym is staffed by experienced instructors who are onsite to offer support, advice, one-on-one training and custom training programmes.

Can I use any equipment in the workshop?

Yes, as soon as you have taken and passed the Safety and Basic Use (SBU) class for the chosen equipment and technology (if one is required). SBU sessions provide you with basic use and safety training for specialist equipment and technology. Going through basic training is a great way to pick up new skills and see first-hand the benefits of TechGym membership.

What equipment and tools are available?

Members currently have access to equipment and tools for light and heavy fabrication, welding, woodworking, the machine shop and 3D printing. Members will eventually have access to just about every machine, tool and process available in the building, including automotive, CAD design and electrical.

If you have a question about a specific piece of equipment please contact us.

Can anyone join?

Yes as long as you are over 18 years of age! At TechGym, people of all skill levels are welcome. Before becoming a member you will go through induction to ensure you understand the rules of engagement and can use the equipment correctly and safely. Health and Safety is a critical component of TechGym and members will be assessed and granted access to specific equipment based on prior experience and training.
